She's really cruising along developmentally this month! From walking along the couch and coffee table to trying new foods to understanding what it means when mommy says, "no no" she is just thriving beautifully. I'm so excited to share everything from this month!
CHARLOTTE'S 9 MONTH STATS
20 lbs. 4 oz.
27 inches tall
Charlotte's personality is really really really starting to come through. She knows what she wants and if she doesn't get it then she pouts a little. Or cries. Or throws herself on the floor. But I think she knows who's boss around here.
HINT: It's me. ;)
She absolutely adores Tom. If I try to sit on the couch and read quietly with her or sit still and play with her then she wiggles and flails out of my arms and basically tries to jump off the couch. If Tom does it? She sits still, snuggles up to him, and actually enjoys sitting with him! He has these magical powers over her I swear.
Charlotte is in the "mom and dad only" stage. Usually if I'm in the room, or if she's been away from Tom and I for more than say...a few minutes she gets really upset and cries for us. Sometimes she won't even let Tom hold her. Poor little Charlotte just wants to be with her Mama. It makes sense though. I'm home with her all day and she did grow in my belly for 9 months so to her I'm the protector, the boo-boo healer, the "nom noms" giver, and the snuggler. I love being her snuggler (even though she never ever lets me!).
For starters I want to say that we are in week two of sleep training and she pretty much sleeps through the night again! YAY! Sometimes it does take a little bit to for her to fall asleep at naptime but usually at night now she kind of whines for maybe 5 minutes (usually less) then falls right to sleep. If she wakes up at night at all she will stand up and cry for a few minutes then lay back down and go back to sleep. It's rare that she needs me to rub her back and console her or anything. I'm so blessed to have such a good, adaptable girl!
Anway, her schedule is this:
7:00 / 7:30am - Wakes up
I nurse her
Snacks on Cheerios while Mommy eats breakfast
She eats breakfast
9:00 / 9:30am - I nurse her and put her down for nap. She sleeps 1.5 - 2 hours.
11:00 / 11:30am - Lunch time (with Daddy when he stops home for lunch)
2:00 / 2:30 - I nurse her and put her down for a nap. She sleeps 1.5 - 2 hours.
4:00 / 4:30 - Snack
6:00 - Dinner with us
Play time (usually with Daddy) :)
7:00 - I feed her some baby food + rice cereal
7:20 - Bath time!
7:40 - Lotion + jammies (and sometimes a book if she's not too tired)
8:00 - I nurse her a bit and lay her in bed for the night
Do it all over again :)
This seriously changes so drastically with each monthly update!
If you go back and look at all of her updates so far you'll see that she doesn't stick to a certain schedule for more than a few weeks. She sets these schedules herself basically. Obviously I help guide things along but I'm not going to force her to nap at a certain time just for the sake of a "set schedule". If we get in the car to go somewhere and she hasn't napped in a few hours I know she'll fall right to sleep in her car seat so I usually try not to do that because it really throws her naps off.
We get along just fine though!
She still nurses when she wakes up in the morning, before each of her two naps, and before bed at night. Then usually, the inevitable happens and she falls down and bonks her sweet little head or lands on her fingers while roaming the living room and then needs an extra comfort nursing so that's one more. When she gets a little snacky during the day I give her Cheerios and/or chopped veggies or fruit. She loves trying new foods and new textures! At lunch and dinner when Tom and I are eating we usually give her a little of whatever we are having (obviously unless it's spicy or too hard or something).

My "little" girl is still in some 9 month stuff (depending on if the brand runs big) some 12 month clothing and some 18 months. I swear, some brands say 9 months but look like newborn size. But then some brands will say 12 months and look like it's for a 3 year old! Anyone else notice that? So confusing.
Thanks so much for reading Charlotte's 9 month update!
Do you have a little one around her age? Let me know! Do they do and like some of the same things? Tell me in the comments!
Have a wonderful week :)
My name is Hannah and I'm a lucky wife to Tom, and mama bear to two sweet girls - Charlotte & Rosalie. Coffee, lipstick, sunshine, and dresses are some of my favorite things! I love to blog about God, motherhood, "wifeyhood", food, health and much more.
