Brand I Used - Aldi's Simply Nature brand
Amount Bought - 14 Ounces / 28 TBSP
Amount Needed - 1 TBSP
Bought At - Aldi
Full Cost of the Oil - $4.99
Cost for 1 TBSP - 17.8 cents
Less Expensive Alternative
(that I stupidly didn't realize was
cheaper until today!)
LouAna Coconut Oil
Bought at - Meijer
Cost for 1 TBSP - 11.6 cents
FULL COST OF ONE CONTAINER OF WIPES
That is more than half the cost of store bought wipes! Almost 1/3 of the cost! And you don't have to run to the store every single week because you've run out of wipes.
AND IF YOU USE LOUANA COCONUT OIL INSTEAD OF ALDI BRAND'S IT'S EVEN CHEAPER.
It's only 95 CENTS per container!
TIP - Use a microwave-safe measuring cup/container with a pouring spout. It makes pouring the solution much easier!
Once the water is warm add the coconut oil and stir / let it sit until it's melted completely. Add the baby shampoo and baby oil then stir until it's well blended
Take the middle piece of cardboard out of the center of the paper towels. Find the end of the cardboard in the center of the roll and pull on it until it spirals all the way out.
PS - This recipe is not restricted to natural products only. If you want to go even cheaper, do the math and see if you can get some store brand baby oil and shampoo at a lower cost than the ones I used. I'm sure you could pay up to 1/4 of the money you'd pay for store bought wipes. If you go even cheaper let me know in the comments!
Also, let me know in the comments if you use an even cheaper recipe or let me know how you make your baby wipes! I'm sure other mamas reading would love to see some alternative options.
Love you all!
