I know that soup is primarily a winter type recipe but I think it's also really good for rainy days or if you have sickness going through your house. I love this recipe! It's so comforting and delicious! And did I mention it's so easy? SO easy.
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 5 stalks of celery - chopped
- 5 carrots - peeled & chopped
- 2 32 oz. containers of chicken broth
- 1 onion - chopped
- 3 cloves garlic - finely chopped
- 1/4 cup parsley - chopped
- 1 tsp. thyme
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 8 oz. egg noodles
- Add the chicken, celery, carrots, chicken broth, onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, salt and pepper to the crockpot.
- Cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 7-8 hours.
- Remove the chicken and shred it about 15 minutes before time is up.
- Add it back into the crockpot along with the egg noodles. Make sure the noodles are immersed in liquid so they are fully cooked. Leave everything to cook until the noodles are done.
I hope you try and love this recipe!

Hope you have a great week :)
Here we go! Weeks 7 and 8!
A lot has happened this week with baby and I. Sometimes it feels like I'll never feel better but I know this is just a first trimester thing and I just need to wait a few more weeks!
Here's how weeks 7 and 8 looked...
B A B Y S T A T S
Our Sweet Pea now has fingers and toes starting to poke out, eyelids now cover his/her eyes, nerve cells are branching out in the brain to connect to each other, and baby's ears, upper lip and nose are clearly visible.
He or she has quadrupled in size the last 2 weeks and is now the size of a
He/She is about 1.6 cm long and weighs 0.04 of an ounce.
M O M M Y S T A T S
I've actually lost 4 lbs. this week which is normal in the first part of pregnancy. A lot of women lose a few pounds at first then start to gain the weight month by month. I'm not even sure how this happened because I've eaten out a lot this week (goodbye "Eating Out" category of our budget...lol). I've also been eating high caloric foods just because everything I can stomach happens to be that way. I'm not complaining though ;) And don't worry, I have been eating lots of good fruits and veggies too. I'm not a total idiot. Haha!
Nope! Not yet.
Sleep is a lot better this week! The restless legs aren't as bad so that has made a huge difference.
Best Moment From Weeks 7 + 8
Yesterday Tom got off work early and we needed to go to the store so he came along. We finished getting our food and were on our way to the makeup aisle when I saw them...NEWBORN ONESIES. Gahhh my heart melted. I grabbed one off the rack, held it up, and said, "Babe! Can you believe we are going to have a baby this size soon?!" That onesie was soooooo tiny. It made me so excited! Haha I was like a kid in a candy shop. It's taking everything for me not to climb up in out attic and get all of Charlotte's newborn clothes out to spread all over the floor (then later to wipe up all my tears with) ;)
Anyway, that definitely wasn't as cute as last week's best moment but it was the only pregnancy related thing I could think of.
Also, I went to my first midwife appointment this week! It just made me feel a lot better to have my blood drawn and everything tested to reassure me that everything is as it should be and that my baby is growing and healthy. I didn't get to hear baby's heartbeat just yet but I will be able to by my next appointment in 3 weeks or so! Yay! The group of midwives I see are rotational so whoever is working that day is who I see for my appointment. I actually got to see the midwife who delivered Charlotte last time! She made me feel so safe and comforted when I was in labor and delivering Charlotte. I was alone at this appointment; my sister-in-law was watching Charlotte for me and Tom couldn't get the time off work since the appointment was made last minute. Anyway, I was feeling really emotional and sad that I was alone so when I found out I would be seeing Paula, the midwife who delivered Charlotte, I was immediately comforted and I felt so much better :)
No movement for now! I still swear I am getting Braxton Hicks contractions every now and then. My midwife told me that women generally tend to have more BH contractions with their second pregnancy so that makes sense that I'm feeling them this early. (If that's what I'm feeling).
French fries!! Really any potato-y food. Hashbrowns, mashed potatoes, anything. And also pineapple. Tom brought a fresh pineapple the other day and chopped it all up. I ate it obsessively until it was gone. (Woopse!)
Another craving has been pasta with tomato basil sauce. It's soooo good. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And I might ;)
The same things as weeks 6 and 7 - avocados and Robin Eggs (the Easter candy) especially. Also poopy diapers. They are usually pretty awful but especially now that my sense of smell is better than a bloodhound. Haha! Mexican food is now an enemy as are hamburgers, chicken and ground beef. So basically any meat... Haha oh, pregnancy!
Obviously I don't know yet but I am predicting that this is a BOY.
This pregnancy is just sooo different from Charlotte's and I really have a feeling the testosterone in boys is the reason. I know all pregnancies are different despite the gender but something inside me is saying baby is a "he". Of course I could be dead wrong though! Tom really wants a son. He would obviously be so happy either way but every man's dream is to have a son. I think he might get his wish! But you never know. The suspense is killing me!
I have been cramping a little more this week but my midwife says that's normal as long as there is no spotting (and there isn't)! It's just kind of bothersome but I know that it just means our baby is growing growing growing.
I threw up the day I turned 7 weeks. I was on the verge all day long. I mean ALL. DAY. LONG. And it didn't even happen until about 9pm which I thought was annoying because it was taunting me all day and I just wanted it to happen. BUT I think it was a blessing in disguise because it was a day that Tom is gone literally all day and doesn't get home until after 9:30 or so so I would have had no help with Charlotte while that was going on. She went to bed at 8 so that was nice at least. (As much as it can be nice...lol.)
I'm still going #1 alllllll the time. Haha that won't change until after I deliver either.
Hot has been my middle name these past few weeks, and not in a good way. lol. I've been getting got flashes a lot (which also happened with Charlotte) and then the next second I'll be freezing for a few minutes. #hormones
Happy or Moody
I'm much happier this week! After my little pukey incident I have gradually felt better and better every day since. Let's cross our fingers that I didn't just jinx myself! My mom had 5 kids and barely had morning sickness + never threw up. Her mom had 8 kids and barely had morning sickness + never threw up.
Come on, genes!! Work with me here! ;)
My Midwife Says...
She said that everything looks great and that all my symptoms sound normal! My blood pressure was good, my blood work was awesome, and I should be having this baby around Thanksgiving! I might be eating turkey and pumpkin rolls a'plenty in the hospital. Although it would be nice to stuff my face on Thanksgiving and then go straight into labor since you aren't allowed to eat at the hospital until after delivery. (It will absolutely not go that perfectly...) lol.
Alrighty so that was it for weeks 7 + 8! I feel so good now that I've gone to the midwives and they've checked me out and everything looks great! I am so excited to kiss the absolute heck out of this baby and snuggle with him/her! Baby Naegele can't come soon enough :)
I hope you all liked this week's pregnancy update! If you're expecting and experiencing the same things please comment below and tell me. I would love to compare notes!
Have a wonderful week!
I'm kicking off my baby bump series with weeks 5 & 6 of my pregnancy. I'm so excited to start sharing all of my symptoms, weight gain, baby news and everything else with you all! It's been a crazy few weeks since I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago. Man, it seems like that was a million years ago...Time is already flying.
Well, I guess let's just jump into it!
1-2 lbs? I say that with a questions mark because I normally fluctuate between 1-3 lbs so technically I have gained a few lbs but...not really.
I'm sleeping...ehh okay. My restless legs are really bothering me lately so it's hard to find a comfy position to fall asleep in.
Nothing maternity yet! If I was already wearing maternity clothes at this point there would be a problem...lol.
Best Moments From Week 5 + 6
Obviously my first favorite was finding out I'm pregnant! I don't even know why I took the pregnancy test (other than I was late) but I just didn't feel pregnant at all. I took the first test right after getting up in the morning and it was immediately positive. I was absolutely shocked! I ran out into the kitchen where Charlotte was eating and with tears in my eyes I said, "Charlotte! You're a big sister! Your mommy is going to have a baby brother or sister for you soon!" She was so smiley! It was probably the sweetest moment I've ever had with Charlotte :)
I knew I wanted to tell Tom in a really special way so I started scheming. It was a Thursday which meant he would be at work until 5 then I would only see him for like 5 minutes (if that) when he came home to shower and rush to class from 6 - 9pm (he's in school for American Sign Language Interpretation). It actually wasn't as hard as I thought to keep it a secret from him! I thought I''d be bursting at the seems to tell him the news but I was honestly okay which is so not like me. Anyway, I waited until he was home early from work the next day (Friday) to tell him. I had made a sign that said, "I'M A BIG SISTER" and put it on the wall above her crib. He came home and was talking my head off about work and stuff. I just wanted him to see it! I was sweating and nervous and I just needed him to go in there and see it. After what seemed like a million years Charlotte finally woke up from her nap and I had Tom go get her. I heard him say, "Hi Baby Girl! Did you have a good na...." Then there was silence. I walked in the room and he smiled so wide and said, "Babe are you pregnant?!" He gave me a huge hug and kiss and it was such an amazing moment :)
Nope. No movement yet. Although I swear I'm sometimes getting Braxton Hicks contractions already! I read somewhere online that you get BH contractions starting right away but that you generally don't feel them until around 16 weeks. But I don't believe them! Haha I really feel like I'm getting them already every now and then. They feel exactly like the ones I got with Charlotte only my belly doesn't fully tighten because everything is still so little inside. Make sense? Oh, I sound crazy? Okay. Haha ;)
My cravings have been the same as they were with Charlotte. Avocados, cheesecake, Chipotle, Robin Eggs (the Easter candy), and French fries (the newest one). Any pretty much anything with 15903672 carbs in it. Haha!
Before I found out I was pregnant I was chopping avocados for Charlotte and I said to Tom, "I'm going to put some of this on my food too!" And I thought, "This would make sense if I was pregnant but I'm definitely not." Mmhhmm... ;)
So...do you see all of those cravings that you just read? I now can't stand most of those (except Chipotle and french fries). The thought of the rest of those foods make me sick. Today (I'm typing this on Wed 4/8) I woke up and it hit me - all the food aversions. I wanted to make stuffed bell peppers tonight for dinner but when I woke up this morning I did not want to eat that. Not. At. All. Thankfully Tom's family decided to all go out to a Mexican restaurant tonight and that actually sounds amazing and...nothing today has sounded amazing.
Believe me, I wish I knew. Only like...a billion more weeks until we find out though! ;)
I mean...I love my husband and always miss him when he's at work and everything but I've had this strange depression when he leaves. He went to go to Sprint the other day to get a phone and I actually cried. He was going to be gone for like 2 hours but...cry I did because #hormones.
I have also been getting dizzy if I don't eat at least every 2 hours. I'm serious. It's nuts! I'm going to gain sooooo much weight this pregnancy. lol.
Maybe I can't remember very well but I think the nausea is worse this time. I threw up once with Charlotte but I haven't yet with this one. I probably will though... :(
I have also been really out of breath these last few weeks. If I walk across the room I get winded. Haha! I'm such a wimp. But I remember being that way with Charlotte too.
I've also been very very claustrophobic and touchy lately. If Tom is laying too close to me in bed or if it's humid and a I can't breathe as well I just freak out. I seriously have panic attacks if I feel restricted in any way. This just started with my pregnancy and it's so weird. I feel like I'm going insane! Hopefully it passes with the first trimester otherwise I might cry.
I am already going to the bathroom every two seconds. I will go, walk out of the bathroom and 5 minutes later I'll have to go again. This didn't happen until much later with Charlotte so...yay. ;)
Happy or Moody?
Definitely a mixture of both. Most of the time I'm really happy but I have had my moments the last few weeks where I am super grumpy.
Well this week was a little boring just because I haven't been to see my midwife yet but as the weeks go by it'll get a lot more fun and exciting!
My Midwife Says...
I haven't been to see my midwife yet but I will be in the next 2 or 3 weeks. I can't wait! I just want to hear baby's heartbeat! :) Thank you so much for following this first bit of my second pregnancy!
Stick around for weeks 7-40! :)

My first pregnancy update will me this Thursday here on the blog and I couldn't be more excited to share my first few weeks with you. Everything has been so crazy lately with announcing the big news to my husband, our families, and then our friends. Plus, there was my husband's birthday, Easter, my birthday is this week, a job change for Tom (my husband) coming up, we'll be moving soon, I need my wisdom teeth out, and SO ON AND SO FORTH. Haha it's been hectic to say the least. I feel like I've had to re-figure out life the last couple weeks. Everything that is changing is such great and amazing change, and I'm in no way at all complaining, but nonetheless it's a lot to sort through :)
And who knew picking out a new car seat for your (almost) 1 year old could be so stressful / fun / crazy / confusing all at once?! Anyone else? Haha! There are so. many. options / types / colors / shapes! Craziness I tell you.
Anyway, I wanted to share this video I made and published on my Facebook page to announce my pregnancy to our friends!
Well I would love it if you would stick around through this pregnancy and follow along my journey from pregnancy test to delivery :)
Have a wonderful day!
