Man these weeks are flying by! I remember Charlotte's pregnancy seeming like it was taking forever (probably because I had so much more free time)! But this time it's gone so quickly and I can't believe my 2nd trimester is only 3 weeks away. Crazy!
Oh and excuse the crazy, messy hair in the picture. And the exhausted looking Hannah. And the bad lighting. And all of it. Haha I took my hair down from a bun, ran to the wall and asked my husband to snap a picture of me before dinner. You can tell we were hungry and in a super rush. Haha! We love food too much...

Baby is swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm! The kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver are in place and starting to function, although they're still developing. The finger nails are forming on the fingers and toes, and peach fuzz is starting to grow on the baby's tender skin. Baby's limbs can bend now too!

I still have not gained back any of the weight I lost in previous weeks. Honestly I'm perfectly fine with that. According to my BMI I'm supposed to gain anywhere from 25 - 35 lbs with my entire pregnancy. With Charlotte I gained 40. I think that's attributed to the fact that I was working at a desk job from 9-5 all day every day and didn't have to chase a toddler around. I'd sit all day at work then go home exhausted and lay on the couch as I ate dinner. (Ahhh those were the days... ;) )
This time around I'm constantly on my feet. Even when Charlotte is napping I'm up trying to catch up on everything I wasn't able to get done while she was awake. If I only gain 25 lbs I'll be happy! Haha.
Nope. I like to wear maternity clothes to bed because they're so flowy and big (when I'm not hugely pregnant that is) but I don't wear them out and about out of necessity yet.
Sleep is pretty normal thankfully! It's been pretty warm at night here in Ohio so our bedroom has been kind of hot (to me anyway). I have to have a box fan pointed at me while I'm in bed but that's pretty normal for late Spring/early Summer anyway.
Best Moment From Weeks 9 + 10
I've been so tired and sick this pregnancy so it was a breath of fresh air (literally) to get out with my little family two Sundays ago and walk all day. We went to church that day, then our parish held a breakfast afterward so we had our fill of amazing foods. I've been craving potatoes lately and guess what was served - the best seasoned potatoes known to man. (Shout out to my friends' dad Terry for making them! They are freaking. amazing.) Anyway, we went from there to downtown and parked really far away from our destination so we would get a good walk. We walked and walked and walked and walked and finally made it to...an exhibit about Auschwitz. Yes, I know I'm a nerd. You were expecting me to say, "We went to baseball game!" or "We went to a carnival!" Nope. I'm a nerd so we went to an Auschwitz exhibit. It was amazing and so powerful to see the artifacts straight from the camp. It made me so thankful to even have the shoes on my feet and the shirt on my back. Wow.
We went through the exhibit and then walked around some more downtown. It was such a fun time with Tom and Charlotte. I love spending time with them so when you throw in a gorgeously sunny day and fresh air I'm loving it even more! Tom, being the best husband ever, then surprised me and took us to the Cheesecake Factory! I mean, I had to nap for 45 minutes parked in the parking lot before we went in but still! (Haha #pregnancyproblems...) We had an amazing dinner and Charlotte had a lot of fun and we really filled our bellies. I can't believe I haven't gained weight just from that dinner. Haha! I should be about 10 lbs heavier at least after all that.
But anyway, I just wanted to document that because it was one of my favorite days ever with my little family :)
None yet I don't think! Maybe it's just everything moving around in there? Or something? But I do sometimes feel flutters. I don't really know what it is but I like to at least pretend it's our Naegele Nugget ;)
I still always want potatoes. Also fresh fruits, breads, crackers, and pastas. If one of those things is in our cupboards you can be sure it'll soon be in my belly.
I don't particularly love sweets as much anymore with this pregnancy. I mean don't get me wrong - I still love me some cookies or cake every now and then but I definitely don't reach for them as often as I do when I'm not pregnant. I still also can't stand avocados. Oh my heck. It seems like I see and hear about them everywhere I go. I get online and there are articles about the health benefits of avocados. I turn the radio on in the car and some restaurant is bragging about their new avocado burger. I open a magazine and they've written an entire article about how to make face masks with avocado. Chipotle just unveiled their guacamole recipe and everyone is losing their minds over it and posting it all over Facebook. EWWWWWW. NO. GET AWAY FROM ME. Haha I'm a crazy person...
Charlotte loves avocados so I always have to peel and chop them up for her and I'm basically gagging the whole time. And then she tries to be sweet and holds up a piece for me to eat. Oh heeeeeeel no. Thanks but no thanks, Baby Girl. Haha!
I still think this lil squirt is a boy but we shall find out in about 9 or 10 short weeks! I can't wait!!
You know...the other day I started getting contractio...JUST KIDDING.
Absolutely no labor signs.
Thankfully my "morning" sickness has been much much better. I still get it once or twice a day but it's not nearly as bad as it was.
My all-day exhaustion has moved out thankfully and I just get insanely tired around 9:30 or 10 each night. It's like I can't even function. I also get it sometimes during the day after doing things like cleaning or just moving in general ;)
One minute I'm fine and the next I could fall over from pure exhaustion. Oh, pregnancy...Haha!
My lower back has been killing me. My sciatic nerve is especially aggravated this time around, which didn't happen until much later in my pregnancy with Charlotte. Poor Tom is always rubbing it for me like a champ though :)
Happy or Moody?
A lot of both. I promise if I've been short tempered with you it's not that I don't like you. Haha I'm just grumpy because I'm incubating a human! But honestly for the most part I've been really happy. I have everything I could ever dream of and I'm only ever grumpy because of my emotions. I'm truly so happy :)
My Midwife Says...
Well...nothing because I haven't seen them since my last update. I go next week though and we should be able to hear baby's heartbeat by then and get some more juicy baby details. I'm so excited!
Well weeks 9 and 10 have been a little better and I'm so happy that I'm at least starting to feel more normal!
Let me know in the comments if you're pregnant too and how far along you are! I'd love to know :)
Have a wonderful week!
